In a beginning... 

I set aside my trays of watercolors for squeeze tubes of acrylic paint. 

When I first dipped and dragged this new-to-me medium onto a canvas I thought: Huh... This is like painting with plastic.  A smidge of research confirmed that acrylic paints are made from pigment, water, and synthetic polymers (aka plastic).  Aha!
